All About Lazarus Naturals Pet CBD

Lazarus Naturals Pet CBD

CBD can be used to improve issues related to pain, sleep, energy, mood, and anxiety in dogs, cats, rodents, birds, and reptiles. It can improve mobility, energy, and comfort for pets who have slowed down with age or who have painful conditions such as arthritis. CBD can also be helpful for pets who struggle with thunderstorms, vet visits, or being left alone.

How CBD works in Pets.

Pets have an endocannabinoid system just like people. It is well-established that all mammals respond to CBD and other cannabinoids via the endocannabinoid system (ECS), just like humans.

The ECS is a complex network of receptors, internal neurotransmitters (endocannabinoids), and receptor proteins found throughout the central and peripheral nervous systems.

Cannabinoids are made by the body and also produced in plants. Plant cannabinoids, including CBD, trigger the ECS to balance bodily functions like immunity, the central nervous system and others.

Is it safe to give my pet CBD?

Yes! CBD is absolutely safe to give to your pets. Scientific research has shown that negative side effects only occur at serving sizes more than 10 times higher than our recommended serving sizes. These studies have shown that CBD in large servings may cause dry mouth, lowered blood pressure, drowsiness, and diarrhea.

CBD may interact with other medication. If your pet is taking any other medications, be sure to consult with your veterinarian before giving your pet CBD. Specifically, if your pet’s drugs have a warning against ingesting grapefruit, there is an increased chance of negative interaction between CBD and your pet’s medication.

Our full spectrum CBD products contain THC at very low levels which are safe for pets at the recommended serving sizes. To avoid causing negative side effects from increased levels of THC, don’t serve your pet more than 4x the recommended serving size at one time or more than 8x the recommended serving size over a 24-hour period.

Can my pet get high from CBD?

No, CBD will not get your pet high. Our full spectrum products contain low levels of THC that will not have an intoxicating effect at the recommended serving size. If you are concerned about how your pet might react to these trace amounts of THC, we offer a THC-free tincture that contains isolated CBD.

If a full spectrum CBD product is ingested in extremely large servings (6-10x the recommended serving size or 3-4mg of THC), your pet may feel the intoxicating effects of a larger THC dose. While your pet will not overdose on a too-large dose of THC, they may experience negative side effects of disorientation, nausea, or lethargy until the THC passes through their system in a few hours.

How do I choose the right serving size for my pet?

Using the guide below, choose a serving size for your pet that is at the lower end of the recommended range. Every pet will react differently, so observe your pet carefully after dosing to determine whether you need to make adjustments.

If you don’t see the desired results, increase the serving size until you get the desired results. For pets under 30 pounds, increase the dose by 2-3 drops or half a treat. For larger pets, you can increase by a larger amount. For pets over 150 pounds, it’s fine to go over the suggested serving sizes, though we recommend that you keep the ratio of CBD (mg) to your pet’s weight (pounds) consistent with the chart.

For all pets, we suggest that you give your pet no more than 4x the suggested serving size in a single dose or no more than 8x the suggested serving size in a 24-hour period.

Tips on using pet tinctures

A pet tincture can be easily mixed into your pet’s food or applied to a treat. When a tincture is mixed with their food, it passes through the digestive system and the liver. It will take longer to see the effects (up to 1-2 hours), but they tend to last longer (typically 6-8 hours).

Treats are so easy

CBD dog treats are an easy way to introduce your dog to CBD. Follow the serving recommendations based on the weight of your dog. In addition to CBD, Lazarus Naturals  dog treats formulations support vitality, mobility and digestion. When your dog eats a treat, the CBD passes through the digestive system and liver. It may take 1-2 hours to see any effects but they tend to last longer (typically 6-8 hours). If you don’t see the desired results, gradually increase the serving size. It can take up to a week to start seeing the benefits.

Always buy from a reputable CBD company
